#PSUtalentshow provides stage for students’ skills

Providence Student Union’s first ever Citywide Talent Show was a huge success! Hundreds of students and adult allies gathered downtown to watch student performers from across the city show off their skills. The show included student acts from Alvarez, Central, Classical, Hope, The MET, Mount Pleasant, and PCTA.

The cornerstone of the show was Providence Student Union members’ surprise “NECOP” skit, where “NECAP police” shut down one student’s performance to make him take a giant NECAP test. But crowd members were able to band together and use their voices to shout the NECOPS away. The show’s MCs then got up to explain Providence Student Union’s ongoing campaign against high-stakes testing.
